Asbury Methodist Village residents enjoyed a day of snow tubing fun and saw just what it means to live out Asbury’s mission of doing all the good we can by providing exceptional lifestyle opportunities.
Residents and wellness team members joined forces January 23, 2015, for some fun on the slopes on their annual snow tubing trip to Whitetail Resort in Mercersburg, Pa.
“Fitness-wise, you have to have strength, balance, endurance … it’s a great physical activity to do,” said Asbury Methodist Village Wellness Director Cathy Richards. “It’s also part of our overall wellness philosophy about extending what you think you can do.”
The popularity of this event has risen. When it started a few years ago, 17 residents made the trip. Last year, 23 residents went and you can read their story in this Washington Post feature story and video.
This year, 44 residents ranging from their early 70s to 92 years of age, took in the day of snow tubing fun.
FOX’s Washington, D.C. affiliate FOX 5 DC (WTTG), captured the day with a segment broadcast on its evening and nightly news.
