Published: April 4, 2022
After an extensive national search, Asbury is pleased to announce the visionary leader that will serve as the next Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for Asbury Communities. Please join us in welcoming Michael J. Bartoszek as our next CHRO. He begins April 4.
Asbury committed to an exhaustive process to find the next CHRO. Mike was selected following a collaborative process that included multiple Executive Directors and members of the Senior Leadership Team and Asbury Communities Board of Directors.
He is an accomplished leader with more than 30 years of experience in human resources, including the past 20 years at Sodexo. We are excited that Mike will assume this important position and the role he will play across all areas of our Strategic Blueprint and particularly in the Strategic Focus Area for establishing Asbury as a High-Performing Organization.
Mike will be responsible for continuing our momentum to position Asbury as a leader in progressive workforce strategies, promoting a culture that values diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) and belonging, and launching a game-changing talent management approach.
Since 2002, Mike has held progressively responsible roles at Sodexo where he displayed the ability to provide strategic leadership in developing and driving human resources strategy and solutions to fit within the vision and priorities at the 18th largest employer in the world. He spent many years serving as an HR leader in Sodexo’s senior living segment and brings particular expertise in talent management. Mike also has a deep understanding of DE&I and executing a DE&I strategy; Sodexo is regularly recognized for its efforts in this area and was named a DiversityInc Hall of Fame company.
Most recently, Mike led Sodexo’s talent strategy for nearly 140,000 employees as Senior Director, Talent & Performance, which included stepping in as the Interim VP, Learning & Development in the company’s North America Health Care segment. Among his highlights in these roles included:
- Redesigning and implementing performance management, talent review and succession planning systems and processes that impacted 60,000 employees across 80 countries.
- Led the development of the Sodexo’s COVID-19 HR Reopening Guide for North America, which provided a planned approach to forecasting talent needs, such as recruiting and retaining employees.
Previously, Mike had national responsibility as Senior Director, Human Resources for Sodexo Senior Living. His proven experience as a relied-upon consultative partner over the course of his career will serve us well here at Asbury.
